I was watching The Panti Sisters last
night when I heard a man answer a phone call.
He told the caller he’s just at the mall having fun with friends. He was apparently lying because he was
watching the gay film with the rest of us.
When the lights were turned on after the film, I saw the guy with a woman,
not a biological woman. It seems to me
that the guy’s friends were not aware he’s dating a trans. H’m.
Interesting.
Rēs is a Latin word that means thing or things or stuff. The singular and plural forms are the same – rēs. I have no specific topic in mind, so any rēs shall be tackled without prior notice.

Lotion and Hubris
Adult content. Please enjoy, and please be guided
accordingly.
My mother is inured
to my ribaldry.
She wanted to give
me a bottle of lotion for my hands. I
told her I don’t use lotion, not even when I wank. She just chuckled in response.
Sometimes, when I
go home to Marilao, she would ask me, “Do you have a booking?” And I would reply, “Depends if I meet someone
who’s game.”
When I come back,
she would ask, “Did you have a booking?”
And I would tell her, “Yes, I did.
He’s handsome and sexy but with a small dick (or something to that
effect).”
Sometimes, while
watching TV she would suddenly call and tell me, “There’s a handsome guy on TV.” And I would tell her, “He has a great body
too but without a bulge, probably has a small dick.” And she would chuckle as usual.
My mother wasn’t
that open-minded decades ago. Decades. Decades slowly peeled away her
homophobia. And when you’re a parent
with a child like me, you don’t just deal with your homophobia, you will feel
like a therapist trying to treat a queen brimming with blue-blooded
hubris.

Hot Actors in Gay Roles
It’s LGBT Pride Month once
again. So, I’ll talk about one of my
preoccupations: hot men.
On June 19, Rocketman,
starring Taron Egerton as Elton John and Richard Madden as his (Elton John’s)
lover, opens in Philippine theaters.
Jamie Bell is also part of the cast.
H’m. Taron, Richard and Jamie – a
trio of a gay man’s wet dream.
This is not Madden’s first
time to shack up with a man, as you can see here
in an episode of the series Sirens. This was in 2011, the same year Game of
Thrones (GoT) started. Madden is
known as Robb Stark in GoT.
Madden is not the first GoT
actor to play a gay man.
Aidan Gillen, Petyr Baelish
in GoT, is the lead actor and plays Stuart in the series Queer as Folk
(UK version – there is an American version which has more seasons/episodes).
Guess who’s kissing Baelish
in the video? King Arthur.
Charlie Hunnam is one of the
leads and plays Nathan in Queer as Folk.
Hunnam is the lead actor in Pacific Rim and King Arthur:
Legend of the Sword. Hot even in his
youth. Craig Kelly, Gillen’s and Hunnam’s
co-star, is a looker also.

Aidan Gillen and Richard
Madden need not play the game of thrones to be majestic. They have been “queens.”

Nuwanda's Night
Adult
content. Please enjoy, and please be
guided accordingly.
I finally nailed
one of my dream men once upon a December.
Nuwanda and two of his friends went to my place to have a drink. After having their fill of alcohol, the two
young men went with my best friend, while I had Nuwanda to myself.
After that, I would rarely text Nuwanda, if at all. I would ask for his mobile phone number
almost every time we met in the street.
I never bothered to contact him.
I just wanted his number for future reference.
Once upon a
January, I saw Nuwanda buying beer from a store across my residence. I asked for his number again and gave him my
number. Before midnight, he texted, “Anu
miss mo ba ko (What? Do you miss
me?).” I never bothered to reply.
Nuwanda texted a number of times after that. No reply from the queen of dedma.
Between January and May not so long ago (before 2019), Nuwanda and I
would go out to lunch or dinner. Nuwanda
would go out with me after his work. He
helps his parents sell fruits and vegetables in the market. They’re a hardworking bunch of folks. No sex ever again. I’d just feel his hard-on now and then and
pinch his nipples ‘til he turns red and squirms in pain.
Years later, last night (May 18), I saw him driving his family’s motorcyle. He saw me sitting outside a variety store and
gave a distinct look of surprise. His
house was around a hundred steps away from the store. He acknowledged me again when he drove along
the same road on his way back home.
After a minute or so, he went to where I was sitting and asked for my
number and left.
Fast forward an hour or so later.
I had to excuse myself from a meeting because a former love (yes dear –
love) dropped by. Let’s call him
Nike. Nike was there not for me but for
somebody else. They’re on strictly
business terms; we’re not. So, raging
hormones were released last night. White
Walkers would walk again from the spill, I suppose.
Before Nike and I could wrap things up, my dear friend knocked on the
door and informed me Nuwanda was outside waiting for me. Whoa.
Well, nothing happened between Nuwanda and me. We just talked for a short while. We have each other’s number. That should be good enough. For now.

Note: White Walkers are supernatural creatures in the phenomenal HBO series Game of Thrones. The final episode of the series will air hours from now.

Performer
I had two patients related to
each other: a 10-year-old boy and his grandfather.
I had finished with the boy
and was already examining his grandfather when I heard the boy sing in falsetto
(the boy was also dancing).
I told the boy there’s money
in singing, not in dancing.
The boy suddenly performed a
body wave dance and said, “Mas gusto ko sayaw. Gusto ko maging call boy. (I like dancing better. I want to be a call boy).”
His grandparents (the
grandmother was also there) and I laughed.
Where did a 10-year-old boy
get that idea? In Fuckbook perhaps. Oh well.
The boy is handsome (I rarely
see handsome patients in that clinic) and very friendly. Whether he wants to be a call boy or
something else in the future, I think he will succeed.
